Stagos FSE ist ein Linux-Derivat basierend auf Ubuntu und wurde entwickelt von Herrn Mada R. Padhana aus Indonesien.
Hauptbestandteile sind Programmmodule zum Gebrauch in der IT-Forensik.

Die neue Version 2.0 mit grafischer Gnome-Oberfläche befindet sich noch in der Entwicklung.

What is Stagos FSE?Stagos FSE is a GNU/Linux distribution for CFAC purpose.So, what is CFAC? It’s the abbrivation from Computer Forensics, Autopsy and Coroner. Stagos FSE was build to help the forensics team to solve the computer crime related cases.It was build with some CFAC-related application on it.
The aims of this project is to build a complete CFAC framework based on FLOSS application and operating system.On this version, Stagos FSE was build from Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon), costumized for the needs of CFAC framework. Using fluxbox as the window manager, so it may help the system to load more faster when loading the X environment.
Stagos FSE is still far from a complete and perfect GNU/Linux system. It is still need help to doveloped, and you may contribute in it.
Stagos FSE runs on livecd and installed system, and for next version, it should allow you to install it on usb-stick device.
Until the last version, Stagos FSE still have so many bugs on the system, one of them is the livecd won’t eject when you halt/shutdown the system, but generally you may still use the application to help you doing CFAC things.

Besides the main application, Stagos FSE also bring some standard UNIX tools that can be used to help CFAC operation, like dd,loopback,lshwd, etc.
